The legislators in this list are federal. They are in the US congress. This is a state of Indiana issue (changes to the Indiana waivers), so wouldn't it be better to contact your local (state) legislators to let then know what's up and how you feel about it? Maybe someone can post a list of the Indiana legislators in the various districts.

I agree it is particularly important to write to our state legislators. They need to know what these changes have done to families, especially as they head back to Indianapolis for the 2006 session. I believe many truly do not understand the impact this has had, and they need us to describe it to them. We need to let them know we aren't just numbers and that their decision to limit the Medicaid budget has had real effects on families.

But I also think it makes sense to contact federal legislators. Even though it's the state that has changed the waivers, the waiver program uses federal dollars and has federal oversight from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), so our representatives in Washington should be interested and may be able to help.

BTW, to contact Indiana state legislators, see the thread in this section titled "Indiana General Assembly Contact Information."
